What we look after

Five kinds of appointment, so you can pick the right one first time.

If you are unsure which to ask for, describe the concern in your request and we will book the appropriate length and clinician.

  1. 01

    Standard consultation

Twenty minutes with a GP for a new symptom, a change you have noticed, a test result you want explained, or a referral discussion.

Best for: one or two related concerns, sick notes, results review.

  2. 02

    Extended consultation

Forty minutes when there is history to go through — several concerns at once, a complex medication list, or a conversation you would rather not rush.

Best for: multiple concerns, mental health reviews, new diagnoses.

  3. 03

    Nurse-led session

Vaccinations, travel advice, wound care and dressings, blood pressure checks, ear irrigation and routine bloods, booked into dedicated clinic slots.

Best for: injections, dressings, pre-travel planning, monitoring.

  4. 04

    Long-term condition review

A planned review for asthma, diabetes, blood pressure or thyroid care, combining tests, medication adjustment and a written plan you take home.

Best for: annual reviews, medication changes, inhaler technique.

  5. 05

    Children & family care

Childhood immunisations, growth and feeding questions, common infections, and the six-week checks — with appointments held back each morning for under-fives.

Best for: immunisations, unwell children, parental questions.

    We confirm by email

You receive a named clinician, a time, an appointment length, and anything worth bringing or preparing beforehand.

  3. Step 03

    Your consultation

Arrive a few minutes early and let reception know you are here. Appointments run to the length booked, and you can bring someone with you.

  4. Step 04

    Prescriptions and follow-up

Any prescription goes to your chosen pharmacy the same day. Tests come back with a written explanation, not a one-line result.

Before you arrive

Five minutes of preparation usually buys back five minutes of appointment time.

  • Your medication list — names and doses, including anything bought over the counter.
  • A short timeline — when the symptom started and what makes it better or worse.
  • Readings you have taken — blood pressure, blood sugar or peak flow if you monitor at home.
  • Previous notes or letters — anything from another clinic we may not hold yet.
  • Your two main questions — written down, so they do not get lost in the conversation.
  • Interpreter or access needs — tell us in your request and we will arrange them in advance.

Clinical team

Three clinicians, and you will know which one you are seeing.

Continuity matters, so we book you with the same clinician wherever the schedule allows.

Before you book

Questions we are asked most.

Do I need to be registered with the clinic to request an appointment?

No. Send a request and we will tell you whether the appointment can go ahead as a one-off visit or whether it makes sense to register first. Registration takes one short form at reception and does not delay urgent care.

How long is a standard appointment?

Twenty minutes with a GP, or fifteen for most nurse-led sessions such as a vaccination or blood pressure check. Dressings and travel consultations are booked longer depending on what is needed.

Can I ask for a longer appointment?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Choose the forty-minute extended consultation in your request if you have several concerns, a long medication list, or a conversation that should not be rushed.

What if I can only come outside working hours?

The Tuesday and Thursday evening clinics run until 20:00 and the Saturday morning session until 13:00. Note the sessions that work for you in your request and we will book within them.

How do repeat prescriptions work?

Send a request naming the medication and your pharmacy. Routine repeats are reviewed within two working days. If your medication is due a review, we will offer an appointment rather than issue it indefinitely.

Can I bring someone with me, or ask for an interpreter?

You are welcome to bring a family member, friend or carer to any appointment. Interpreters and other access arrangements need a little notice, so mention them in your request and we will confirm them with your time.

What should I do when the clinic is closed?

Contact your local out-of-hours service for urgent concerns, or seek emergency care immediately for chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding or sudden weakness. Requests sent overnight are read the next working morning.
